I am okay!

I am SO sorry that I havent blogged in FOREVER, but I am totally good. I had my surgery on Monday....(last monday) and I came back to work on Friday for our annual all campus workshop.

Surgery is scary of course, but my dad and barb were both with me and took GREAT care of me. I was very thankful for that...we got to the hospital at 9:30am...I went into the room at like 10;30am and they gave me my IV and a bunch of anti-throw up meds...since I havent thrown up since 1991, I dont really want to start NOW. So, they did that and then I met with the anastegialogist (can't spell) and met with my doctor to make sure he was in a good mood. I was pretty bummed cause I wasnt allowed to KEEP MY STONES. But, he did bring out my gallbladder for my dad and step mom to see...and they took a picture, so I shall post that! :) I had about 15 pea sized gallstones...so, we were glad to get the gallbladder OUT! :)

I went in for the surgery at a little before 12pm....and was home by 4pm!!!! I did a good job and drank water and apple juice... and didnt feel sick at all- so praise the LORD!!!! My stomach is all cut up- but I am thankful cause they did the laproscopic...and there is always a chance that you can go in for laproscopic and leave with an open surgery- which is like a 7 inch scar....and there would be NO WAY I could walk down the aisle in 12 days!! :)

Jamos sent me flowers- they were on the doorstep when we got home from the hospital, my friend rachel taped a prayer and a flower on my door the morning of the surgery....all very wonderful.... and, my friends Lauren and Carrie came over on Tuesday- so did Rachel and Jamos who was stranded in Detroit all night long the night before- then he caught a flight to CHICAGO- then to South Bend and got his car and drove back to me! That was so amazing- I am going to have a wonderful husband.

He took great care of me- helping me sit up and take care of my wounds....he cleaned the kitchen, cooked for me...it was MARVELOUS!!! :)

So, praise God. praise him... he is a good GOD.

hi

Joy in one's heart and some laughter on one's lips is a sign that the person down deep has a pretty good grasp of life.

I keep coming across really neat quotes and things....It is getting closer and closer to my surgery, I am kinda nervous, but also ready for this whole gallbladder issue to be OVER!!!!
I really have faith that the Lord is holding my hand...he is guiding the surgeon, so we shall just remain confident in Christ!

Just called the surgeon's office and it looks like I am still on for Monday at 12pm....so, I am thinking I should be back home around 5pm...to sleep in my own bed!! :)

My toe still hurts really bad....

my toe....
nice colors on this....

The two men in my life! :)

trying to take our picture! :) This is at the latin festival...where we learned to DANCE! :)

when life gives you lemons, make lemonade

Right now I feel like life is trying to throw me some major curve balls!!! It is 23 days until I am married...the biggest day of my life- and yet, this is all sidetracked with craziness....I am having the gallbladder surgery on Monday- got all my blood taken and I am getting ready for that- and then, I last night I smashed my foot into the VACUUM cleaner...and broke my toe. Seriously, it is swollen, and black and blue and I cannot walk. COME ON!!!!

So, please, put me in a padded room RIGHT NOW....

Pray for protection, for the wisdom of the doctors...for joyfulness in my heart- for a fast recovery....pray that he will not loose any stones in my abdomen...that require future surgery.... that his fingers will be nible and his thoughtfulness will flow over onto me, the helpless patient!

Pray that the wedding plans will continue to fall into place- people are coming, so that is good! :) I know that details are coming down to the wire and I pray that everything will get done in good time!: )

thanks for the prayers!!

Also, congrats to my BFF bethany, who is in the wedding, she is ENGAGED and planning a NOVEMBER wedding!!!! I suppose you could pray for her too!!! :)

Well, today was the day....I met with the surgeon about my gallbladder and the verdict is.....

TAKE IT OUT!

They want to take my gallbladder and all of it's precious stones out on MONDAY! August 20th at 12pm is my surgery...it is laproscopic (I cannot spell, so do NOT hold me to this...) and hopefully I will be able to go home that day....

All of this is pretty scary, but it has been feeling like a dull achy pain...and pretty much, there is nothing else can do - no alternative therapy...etc., and as much as I enjoy fat free eating, there are types of fats that I love that are good for me, such as avocados, olive oil, cheese.... come on! And occasionally, I want to eat MEAT...so, the verdict is, to have the surgery and then, not really have to worry about certain foods upsetting my gallbladder with horrible excrusiating pain like the gallbladder attack.

Who in their right MIND has surgery 2 weeks before the wedding??? Apparently EMILY...I feel like this has been drama all the way and I am ready for it to be DONE with....

Jamos will be out of town in Nashville on the day of the surgery, but hopefully he will be able to take some time and spend time with me during my recovery period, which should be at the most about 5 days...

I feel good about this, I feel like I am putting my game face on and doing what you have to do to get thru this portion of my life. I am blessed, I am getting married to the man of my dreams, I have a great job, I have insurance, I am going to HAWAII!!!!!!!, I mean what more could a girl want in the next month of her life! :) So, let us continue to praise the Lord, thru everything, praise him.

And, while you praise him, lift my gallbladder up to him, as funny as it sounds, and pray for a seamless surgery, pray they dont have to open me up fully in an emergancy situation, which would mean I would need 3 WEEKS of recovery and would be in pain thru my wedding and honeymoon...pray for the anastecia (I cannot spell) that I will not get sick from it- that is a huge fear- the last time I threw up was after a surgery...in 1991...

:) I am a DORK. But, that is okay- I am in love.
