The Devil wears Prada
I watched that movie last night....pretty good- for sure chick flick- since it deals with fashion and a girls perspective on the entire realm of the working world. During the movie, I was feeling empowered as a woman, then, afterwards, I was like, yea, that was an okay movie, and now, this morning, I keep thinking of some key phrases of what these people were saying during the movie- strange, I never do that- but I really thought it was interesting. One of the most interesting, after the girl was struggling with her relationship to her boyfriend of like, forever, her co-worker said, "just as soon as your personal life starts to break apart, you are ready for a promotion." I probably should not put that in quotes, b/c I know I am totally not saying it right- but I hope you get the point!!
And...now I do find the fashion industry interesting....
This weekend is going to be busy- i am leaving for c-town- lots to do this weekend already planned and then I leave Monday for FL! Around this time, I get really nervous about the whole idea of flying, going home to Florida, a lot of thoughts go thru my mind...which affects my personality! I get a little grumpy...(I think jamos would say I have been VERY grumpy) but, it is just the process I have done my entire life...mentally prepairing myself for travel from one parents house to the next...and even thought I am nearly 27 years old...independent...successful...I still shrivel into the little girl who was forced to get on an airplane alone to go to this foreign place and spend my summer there. So, now comes the realization that I DO this, that I am NOT that little girl anymore, and, well, pretty much the fact that I am responsible for my actions/words(verbal and non verbal) and I can't let that affect the relationships around me. Pretty hard...yet, admitting this is the 1st step to 'healing' isnt it?!
I do have a lot to be thankful for...especially the fact that my house/landing area is PACKED to the rim of gifts for loved ones and Jamos' family. I am reminded of the blessings in my life.
God really is faithful to me...he loves me...more than I can imagine or deserve...he loves me thru my 'attitude' and is patient as I experience growth in all area's of my life. Thanks God! I love you! :)

Frankenmuth :)

What a fun day- these pictures go from bottom to top in order- first, the sun rise as I drove on 94 to meet Rachel- then off to Bronners...then, off to the little town of Frankenmuth! We walked to the shops - ate a TON OF food at the bavarian inn...also known as the chicken dinner!! We had bread....soup...4 different 'sides' chicken, stuffing, potatoes, sweet potatoes, SO MUCH FOOD!!! Then, went to the cheese place- got some famous cheese from the cheese haus...very fun. Rachel and I did get a little lost along the way...but, thanks to "moms with maps" we ended up A-ok!!! :)
Just in time to go to IKEA!!!

Winter Schminter
This weather is SO making me tired! The darkness so early...the coldness...my shivering all the time...man....why did I move to michigan?? I could be soaking up the ray's in Florida- BUT...i love michigan more! :)
Life is good- getting ready for Christmas...had my 6 month dental visit- yearly physical...the usual fun stuff that people have to do...ugh...but, all clear- except, the dentist told me I grind my teeth and I have a crack in my tooth too- which I even REMEMBER biting down on that popcorn kernel...and now that 2.00 bag of popcorn is going to cost me a lot more if the crack gets bigger and I need a cap...
There are a lot of crazy thought racing thru my mind of things I can write about- most you wouldnt care to know, some are confidential and I can't talk about them, some I just want to keep inside, some I want to clarify and figure out- all these thoughts....and only 1 brain to keep them in.

roses for me! :)
Jamos walked into the office on Friday to take me to our annual office christmas party at the church- and he had these pretty flowers in hand! What a nice suprise! I loved it! And, I could get very used to that!! I love flowers- so, to get suprised w/ them was even more special! Good job babe. This weekend FLEW by. I can't even tell you how suprised I am at how fast it went. I was hoping for a weekend of watching movies and not doing much- but when Jamos comes to town- it is GO GO GO all the time. He has stuff he wants to do- I have stuff I need to do and together we somehow accomplish everything!
Tonight I cooked steaks on the grill- that tasted good- and even though the snowflakes were falling- the grill was a calling! :)
We did a LOT of Christmas shopping too. It makes for LONG days when you are out and about in the crowds with sore feet! We found some good deals though....you know me- always out to save a penny!!
Tomorrow at work- we have Honors Showcase- 1st of the year- all the high academic students are coming to campus to visit and learn more about the honors program at SAU. It should be a very busy day- which is hard on a Monday!!!
Anyways, Jamos just left and my heart is sad. I hate the miles that seperate us...but, I know the time goes by shortly and we always have the telephone!

too busy
Well- I am very busy! It really feels like there is not enough time in the day- especially during the holiday season. I am sitting on the floor at home- at least I have internet access- but I am sitting next to the tree that I didnt even have time to plug in before doing stuff online and ordering body shop for all my customers! :) That is fun...but, stresses me out. I hate being stressed out. Although, after I run to the store, I am going to lite the tree and begin cooking for the holiday party that is TOMORROW night! I am pumped- still not sure what I want to bring, but I am pumped none the less! :) Jamos is coming to town and that makes me happy! :)
Today at work was good- the reps and I had a 'christmas card writing party' and we went on a special trip to the library study room with the DVD player and watched ELF while writing christmas cards to 900 applicants! :)
We rock.
It has been raining and getting colder- which means I am wearing sweat pants to the grocery store when I go here in a few moments! :) I love looking like a scrub sometimes!!! :)
I have been meaning to write more- share photos- do something to stay in touch with whomever reads this, but I have been far to busy to have time to sit and compose a sentence...although, I will share that our office ROCKS!!! I wanted to have a campain/partnership with WORLD VISION this Christmas season to buy clothes for people in developing nations and also raise money for students who need an education- and I thought, since we are all in higher education it just seems fitting to be in support of this...well, I just started this campaign yesterday and we already hit our goal!! Which means, we can also get an animal for a community where they can sell either the milk, eggs, make food, basically, give them an animal that can help their way of life. I am just so excited about this. I think it would be amazing to work for an organization like World Vision...taking pictures of the actual gifts that people have bought. Anyways, I am excited and I can't wait to see how our money is used!!! I am proud of our office for being so willing to help out and make this new year bright for people who dont even know! :) Good job people!!!

Tis' the season
Tis the season to be jolly fa la la la la la la la la.
I am happy. I have the joy. :) I have chosen joy over sadness...You just have to choose what you want to be! And, you need to take care of yourself! I am learning daily what I am doing in life. I am for sure not perfect- and sometimes I feel the pressure to know what I am doing at all times...and I really dont! I am just a girl...who is trying...trying to succeed...to have friends...to be a great daughter, boss, girlfriend, friend...and lately, I have no idea if I am doing a good job at that or not- but I decided to choose happiness. joy. peace. comfort. love. caring. kindness.

Calendar
Interestingly enough today's calendar...."Looking foward to thing is half the pleasure of them." How funny is that? I have been counting down the hours until I get to see Jamos!
So far the day has been a long one...slow things at work...calling students...all that jazz.
Have a great Thanksgiving!

body shop party
Today I had a little body shop party- well, I didn't have it- someone else hosted it- but I went and it was a small little shin dig- but, fun for them to still be able to soak their feet! :)
I got to talk on the phone to Jamey- she is hanging out in CA at disney and such- lucky girl- but, I officially am going to Seattle April 5-10, 2007!!! YIPPEEE!!! We get to have fun! :) I am pumped!! It was a PAIN in the butt- I had to drive to an aiport and swtich the ticket...they were like.."Who gets a paper ticket these days" and I myself am thinking- WHO CARES let's fix this!! I need to go to Seattle and I need some E-ticket credit- so, needless to say, we got it all squared away- my anxiety level decreased and...well...I still have some credit to fly somewhere ELSE! :) Where to go...where to go!! :)
I shopped all day- didnt get home until nearly 9pm- had a great time and I am glad it all happened! :)
Now, I am finally able to change my clothes- put on something comfy and get ready to go on Thanksgiving Break! :) Can I get a cheer for a 2 day work week!!??!?! :) YAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

no idea
I had no idea what type in the title section- What is the point of a title anyways?
Has anyone out there ever assumed something? Jumped to conclusions? I mean, GOOD things- amazing things- things you have wanted since day 1...and then, the realization of that idea you have been clinging to...that assumption...is totally WRONG. I guess it is a dream fallen...a WRONG idea...a concept taken too far. I dont know exactly what it is but when it falls apart...the dream, the idea, when reality is discovered...it stinks.
On a different note, I am totally fine, just a little disappointed...but, life is really good!!! I had a body shop party last night with the RA's of University Hall- it was a treat for them to be able to have a spa night. It was fun. Then, we had a suprise party for the interns because they do such a great job calling. In between those activities, I caught dinner at subway...and as I sat in the gas station/subway portion, I watched all these people come in and out...a gas station is a VERY busy place! Hunters, kids that dont look old enough to buy cigerettes (sp?), older people just buying gas. It was kinda nice having a moment to just watch these people and be quiet.
and...as my calendar says, "This too shall pass"

Hugs are the universal medicine
That is on the calendar for the day. I must say...today, I have a sinus headache. The kind that make me feel like throwing up and shutting my eyes. It does make it really hard to be up and at em at work- looking and trying to remain as confident and 'on' but...hey, i do what I can because i am blessed.
Poor Jamos has been working overtime for the past 3 weeks...so, he is working 13 hour days...he is crazy and I am SO proud of him for how well he has done this...and I am thankful for him. :) GO JAMOS! :)
The week is almost over...tomorrow night I am planning on going to the Christmas Parade downtown with my friend Jennie and her family/kids. It should be fun, if I go, I might be too tired and wore out- because I have a busy night and then I have to be back here for a suprise for the interns! :) So, it will be a late night and right now with this headache, things aren't looking so good! :)
So, all in all things are going great. I dont like the fact that it gets dark SO EARLY!!!! When I drove home last night from work at like, 6:20 or so, it was like pitch black and so strange to me that it was only after dinner and not 12am.
Remember, hugs ARE the universal medicine...so, let's hug! :)

This is the 1st year I have done a good job at wrapping gifts...they look beautiful- like I want to take a picture of them! And I am really excited cause my friend Jamey said she will be in Seattle when I want to go out there in the spring!!! I am so excited! :) YIPPEEE!! Washington here I come! So, now we get to think of all the fun things we can do in less than a week! I have to research and see what I would enjoy!!! And, I am just thankful I get to see my friend Jamey. She is lovely.

Church was AWESOME this morning. I didn't want the worship to end! It was awesome....no other word to describe it!!! It makes me happy to experience Christ in worship.

a full saturday!

Jamos and I had a very full saturday! Off to Ann Arbor (like I posted earlier) and we went straight to Treasure Mart- which is in the old part of Ann Arbor- put we still drove thru U of M- it was crazy! Little did we know, a game was starting- the jets flew over us, people were partying in the streets and there we were like little old people trying to find treasure mart! We finally found it and neither of us got anything. They had loads of antiques, furniture, things like that, but the prices werent THAT good- and well, the stuff I could afford, was JUNK...and we all know I have enough of that without the help of treasure mart. :) After that, we got in the car in search of this vintage clothing store, on State Street in downtown AA. We FINALLY found a place to park and wandered around the cute downtown...went to this vintage store that was like, 3 stories up in this TINY little place...DUH- we are NOT vintage...so, that was a worthless trip...but, on to Urban Outfitters, where we found some cool stuff- but nothing worth spending money on...but...we did go across the street to a VERY good sandwhich shop, that I cant remember the name of...but, we split an Italian Sandwich (SO GOOD!!) and an ice cream sandwich made from these HUGE cookies! It was a good date w/ my man, even though we had to hurry because the meter was going to run out on the parking spot! :) We had fun...then, off to E. Stadium Blvd to find 'klose kloset' or something like that...thinking it would be amazingly good consingment...well, we get there...after much turning around and...well....lets just say...OLD WOMAN clothes ALL OVER! and, it was EXPENSE, like 90 bucks for stuff. So...we turned around and went to the mall! :) Gotta love Briarwood mall. Jamos and I were in the shopping mood- and he found brown shoes at Aldo, which were on SALE and look WAY good on him...and we got our picture taken in the photo booth (I love those!) and I will post the picture on here after I scan it...and then, we went to basically EVERY store in the mall and shopped a lot- I was wearing my new, tall, leather boots in black ( I got them in brown too) and after not wearing heels...or boots for a very long time- my feet were killing me!!!! I did find a great outfit at H&M- to wear on thanksgiving- it is super cute--- and some neat hair ties with flowers on the ends...yada yada...
Then, off to Joe's Crab Shake for some CRAB LEGS and coconut shrimp!!! YUMMMMMMMMY!!!! We had a blast- it was both our FIRST Crabbing experience- I think Jamos enjoyed the process more than I did...but, we had a blast (as you can see from the pictures) and well...ate it all- licking the platter clean- only to RACE the 40 some miles back towards Jackson to make it in time for the "BowFire" concert. It was AWESOME. We made it just in the nick of time- Jamos was getting pretty anxious as he was driving- afraid we would miss it- but, i was calm- because, well, I was with him and that is all that matters to me! :) So, we made it there by the skin of our teeth- and enjoyed a really neat show! I would have bought a CD- but they were 20 bucks! Basically, it was a mix of Violins...upbeat celtic kinda toons mixed with some 'riverdance' type moves. Amazing. I dont know how to explain it- but it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! We had great seats- close but not too close- and right on the end! very good! :) We lucked out! After the concert- we made BREAD IN THE BREAD MACHINE!!!!! It is VERY good and very easy!! I love it!! :) Tried to watch Mission Impossible 3- but I was WAY tired and kept falling asleep on the couch...
This morning- went to church at Westwinds- got there late since they changed service times....got an ok seat- missed worship which jamos and I were sad about- but, whatever! We can sing praises all the time...:) had good coffee...and then.....afterwards...went back towards town, to get GAS at SAMS, go to Target, saw puggle puppies at the pet store- found some GREAT Christmas gifts at TJMaxx....it was fun- then, we went back to SAMS to get food for his parents (we shop for them! :) ) and ate SO MANY SAMPLES!!! It was ridiculous! I have never seen so many samples...we had ...ham steak... 2 whole cookies, an egg roll, 2 chicken fingers, cheesecake, cream puff, pig in a blanket, a power bar (NASTY), Loe Mein and I am sure more that I can't think of right now...ridiculous...and that was our lunch! :)
Fun times..as always being with my man...and enjoying life with him! I love it and I love being in love! Except, I hate it when Sundays come and he has to go home :( It is totally not fair!!!!

auction
Going once...going twice...SOLD! :) Last night was the annual Jackson Christian Auction....and it was SO FUN!!! Basically, people donate some amazing things and then, we all like fools bid on them....a 10.00 gift certificate goes for like, $50. And so on and so forth. It is a blast. I was a lucky girl because my boyfriend, Mr. Jamos himself left work early, battled the traffic and bad directions from his girlfriend to attend with her and for that I am thankful! :) We had fun, I bid on some pretty random stuff...lucky for me, I only ended up with a 'never used' bread maker and tickets for tonights BowFire Concert....Bowfire you might ask?? Yes, well, it is these people who play the violin in amazing settings and just very entertaining and I am SO excited that Jamos and I get to go!!
We had a good meal....they actually brought this pig in....that had been cooking over the fire- it was slightly DISCUSTING as it walked right by my chair on a large platter- had an apple in its mouth and grapes for eyes....I still ate the salty pork, turkey, cheesy potatoes, little veggies that looked like mini pumpkins and things. To complete the 3 cups of coffee I drank- we had some apple pie- not as good as MY apple pie, but it served its purpose! :)
I cant remember what we bid on for the 'live' auction- but if you start out early- you can at least raise your paddle and feel cool! :) My boss and his wife got a weeks stay at Shanty Creek! That is pretty cool if you ask me! :)
Now, as we get ready for the day- we are heading East to Ann Arbor to see what we may see in that area- it shall be great! I wanted to go to Franenmuth this weekend, BUT...now that I got these concert tickets...we can't go too far! :) Plus, there are movies to watch...and fun times to be had!

my mouth
"Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in Heaven and you are on the earth, so let your words be few. As a dream comes when there are many cares, so the speech of a fool when there are many words." Ecclesiastes 4:15
I have to admit, I feel like a fool sometimes in my speech. Words are POWERFUL. Whether you are recieving them...or saying them...words are really amazingly strong. Sometimes, even words that AREN'T spoken are the most hurtful...but, mostly, it is better to not say anything when you dont have something nice to say.
I like the verses in Chapter 4 of Ecclesiastes..."If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."
Praise the Lord that I have a man in my life who can help me up when I fall...:) And keep us strong together.
I realize that although I appear perfect (just kidding) I am really not...I say stupid things...and, boy oh boy am I glad that there is also a verse in the Bible that says not to listen to whatever people say, for you yourself have said the same thing...which means so much to me...
Anyways, fall is here...it is pretty...but also means a gray and bleak winter is approaching and for that, in my heart, it makes me crazy :(

it is saturday
Itchy. Do you ever just feel itchy? Today I am just itchy all over! I wonder if I am allergic to something in my house. Who knows...Last night was fun, I went to the movies with my friend Rachel, saw the movie, "Man of the Year" with Robin Williams. It was a slow start, but a pretty great movie if you ask me! :) Then, we went to Meijer to do some grocery shopping...a LOT of clearance items! So- that was a lot of fun. I didnt get too much- just the usual...groceries!
Oh, yesterday at work, we all went down to Flavor Fruit Farms...and went in the corn maize. We split into 2 teams- and had to hold a rope the whole time...which made us work as a team. That was fun. Then, we got out pretty quick! After that we had to make a HUMAN KNOT! That was crazy. You all hold hands and try to get out of the knot.. Luckily we didn't have to totally get out of it...and got to eat donuts and cider instead!!! OH AND...they have a petting zoo and I got to pet a baby cow and it was licking my HAND!!! And then, I played with a little baby goat...and it was sucking on my finger! It was SO stinking cute. I love animals. They are precious. And, hopefully, someday, I can have a little land with some animals! Just a few...like, goats, dogs, chickens...that kinda thing. :) I love it.
I will post some pictures!!!
Next weekend I get to ride an elephant at Jamos' church...:) YIPPEEEEEE!!!

I havent had time to update in forever because I have been on the west side of the state recruiting and going to high schools- then back in the office- then up north for an excellent college fair and high school visits. It has been a whirlwind....and I leave tomorrow for more time on the road. I love travel season but it sure keeps me BUSY!!! :)

Sunday :)
Today is a sunny sunday!!! I got picked up this morning to go to church- back at the SAFMC. I havent been there in FOREVER- the worship was good- the sermon, questionable....not sure why I wasn' that into it- but...all in all, good. And I am thankful for my friend Jennie, who went with me and we got to sit together!
I came home- ate my veggie soup that I made last night....haven't eaten this for a while...and started the cleaning parade- rearranged the living room- moved things all over the place, worked up a sweat...i think it looks good. i was getting tired of the way it was...but, it is looking good now!! :)
Nothing else going on- Jamos got to go to Niagra Falls today! how fun! :)

beautiful flowers

Here are some pictures I took this morning on my way out the door- of the flowers that Jamos sent me for our anniversary! :) they are so beautiful. Peruvian Lilies...love them!!!!
So, this weekend has been highly productive. Jamos is in New York at a wedding...so I have been cleaning up a storm!!! Cleaning as well as shopping and getting things ready for the weeks to come. Tomorrow I want to re-arrange some furniture in the living room- cause i am tired of the way it it is right now...but today was the 'deep cleaning' portion of the day- I cleaned the dishwaser, the garbage disposal, the bathtub, the kitchen and bathroom floors- all the stuff I don't really like.
B U T. It will pay off in the long run. :)
I am watching the movie 'Nanny McPhee' it is SO stinking cute!!! I love it. :) Oh, and GO TIGERS!!!!
I spent the afternoon running errands and buying things for Jamos' family at SAMS club. Personal shopper:)
So...that is my life in a nut shell.

Dasani
Hi whoever reads this! I am still alive, and doing good. I have been hitting the road- getting on the 'recruiting' band wagon! :) I love it!!! It feels so great to go to schools and talk with students who are interested in SAU. It also feels awesome to go to a college fair and present in 1 minute SAU in a positve way, to leave these families wanting MORE! I love it. I don't love being lost...or eating alone...or getting home late...BUT, everything else is A-okay with me!
On tuesday, right before I left the office for my 1st college fair of the week- I got a package! Wondering what it was, I raced back to my office and saw that it was FLOWERS!!! So, I ripped open the box and read the note, from JAMOS!!! He got my flowers for our 1.5 year anniversary. How sweet. He waited until he wasnt going to be in town to send them- I see his point and it was a BIG suprise!!! They are just beautiful. Peruvian Lillies. Good man he is. I will post pictures tomorrow if I remember to bring my camera to work! :)
So, I have had a productive day in the office- email and writing postcards- oh and it is almost 5pm and I realized that I am no longer out of the office- and need to change my voicemail. :)
whoops!!!! :)
