all moved out

wow, Jamos and I are all moved out of my apartment in Jackson. The movers decided to come early, on Sunday, and spent ALL day packing up our 'STUFF' There is nothing like moving that makes you feel like you have a ton of...excuse my expression...."crap" :) geesh. It took them from 8:30am-1pm to just pack it- taking dishes out of the cupboards, etc., and packing it nicely so they dont break and have to buy us all new china.... Then, after lunch, they came and just loaded the truck- which, if I was in charge of loading anything I would just cram it all in there- but not these guys (OR MY HUSBAND) they take every box and consider where it should fit in the truck- size, weight, etc., It was amazing. They are great!!!! So, last night, since there was nothing in my house to eat or DO, we went to the movies- we went together, but I met up with my friend rachel, and we went to see "P.S I love you" which was really good- and jamos went to see National Treasure...which he also said was very good- and unlike me and rachel, he did not come out crying! :)

Today, we got up early and ran more errands, to AAA, the post office, got an oil change at the dealership, I met up with my friends Holly and Jennie and we had a nice lunch together- then, Jamos and I went back to the house to load anything else that we needed to load....it felt like it took FOREVER!!! I talked with my little old lady neighbor, we moved in about the same time, and she is scared that she is going to get a drunk living above her. I told her that I doubt she was going to get a drunk living above her, but I can see where she is coming from- I mean, good neighbors are a treasure, and I am kinda wondering about who our neighbors will be at this new place in Texas. I can't believe that we are moving to TX and that my car is on some truck somewhere in the USA- that everyone of my belongings and hopefully my marriage license which went missing yesterday, is somewhere....

We drove over to SW michigan for new years eve with my dad and step mom- and then, we shall be seeing his family as well- which is good. and, taking off for St. Louis tomorrow! CRAZY EH?!

I am sad. I am leaving a lot of really wonderful friends.... and a huge place of growth for me. thank you Jackson.... thank you SAU.

a little pool?!

Right now I am sitting down in my dad's furnished apartment, watching my husband, my father and my dads friend play a game of pool. I almost beat Jamos in a game, but I figure it is much more fun sitting here....

We had a GREAT christmas, it was seriously, busy, we were up early with breakfast at Jamos' grandparents- then, back and forth from home to house to home to house- all over creation- and we were finally driving back to my dads after midnight!!!

It was fun, and of course, family is such a blessing, I want to write more, but the pizza is ready upstairs (we are having a bit of a party if you will)

Pray for Jamos and I as we get ready to MOVE.... there is much to do....

But, we are excited about 2008! :)

our new place!

here are a few pictures of Houston- and the inside of the apartments- this is what ours will look like- not our actual apartment, because it is getting remodeled- but, this is what it shall look like! :) We love the pool- and the apartment- it is GREAT!!! :)

horrible movie...

Tonight my dad, step mom, Jamos and I went to the movies- we saw..THE WORST MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is with Tommy Lee Jones....something about No mans country or something like that. OH MY GOSH - honestly, it had NO POINT!!!! and was the most discusting movie ever- totally gorry...however you spell that.

okay, but, today was fun, we went to church to see a christmas play- then, did a little more christmas shopping- and back home to have a nice dinner with my family and jamos. Then, off to the movies!

Now, Jamos and I are wrapping gifts and getting ready for the next few days! :)

bye!

i love being married

We had a great time in Houston- found an amazing place to live- I will post pictures soon....it was a REALLY stressful process though- such a huge city- so many areas to live in- it is hard to know the best place for you...but we found it! It is in the Galleria district right near the HUGE mall!! :)

I LOVE IT!!!! Anyways....

I have loved being married and being with my husband on a regular basis. He is amazing...AMAZING!!!! Last night I got home from work- and he was GONE! I was like..hmm...where the heck did he go? Well, he comes back a few minutes later with groceries...to make DINNER...kicks me out of the kitchen and bakes this amazing meal from the cookbook....

washes the dishes....and does the laundry- cause I fell asleep on the couch. UN REAL! :)

Anyways, he is amazing and I love him and I am so in love with him!!!

Okay- enough of that- Today was my LAST day in the office at work. It was kinda a strange day- we got to wear jeans and take down the christmas stuff- I was basically doing finishing touches on things and having NO idea what I should take with me to Texas to actually DO my job.

Anyways, towards the end of the day- it was sad, basically everyone just left- cause the day was over and people wanted to get started with their christmas break- but I got to hug and say bye to my friends Carrie and Lauren. They have been amazing co-workers and I will miss them greatly.

All the lights were off in the lobby and the office when I left- and I just stood there- sobbing- because it is really sad to be leaving the office. I mean, really exciting things are happening in my life- but at the same time for over 5 years, I have been working in this office- with amazing people and doing amazing things- so many memories were flashing thru my mind as I stood in the lobby. I really felt like I was in a movie or something- saying goodbye. It was sad. REAL sad.

Then, Jamos and I went to get a car wash, ate pizza at SAM's club...(yum!) looked at flat screen TV's....(jamos really wants one and after looking at them tonight..hmm...I kinda want one too!) and then, we went to the fair grounds to see the lights there- it was a drive thru deal and SO much fun!! :)

Thank you for your prayers- Jamos and I really appreciate them.... We will be with our family for the holidays and then back here to continue the cleaning process. :)

Houston here we are!

Jamos and I made it to the airport on Sunday- in like the worst winter weather EVER! I couldnt believe we made it- we did spend extra time on the runway de-icing- but for that I am grateful! We made it to Houston- where the sun was shining bright and the weather feels nice! It is cool here, but, still really nice.

We spent the ENTIRE day searching for apartments and trying to drive around the city without getting TOO lost- we are getting real good at knowing where we are and what are the main roads. The highways are NUTS around here- I mean, this is a HUGE city, but I guess I didnt realize how nuts it really gets. I would ask for prayer- that the Lord will show us to the doorstep of our future new home!! There is 1 apartment complex I am madly in love with- but it may be a little too much money- so we have some decisions to make. :)

We met some of Jamos' co-workers- and other MBR's at a starbucks on the corner so Jamos could sit in on a conference call. I enjoyed some time doing a crossword puzzle- and tried to make new friends- I met a lady who is a lawyer in the area- anyways, we were talking about places to live- etc., every person I have talked to so far in the city- (all other women of course) they have given me their number! It is so sweet! I guess Houston does have that small town feel!

So, pray for us, I will post pictures when I can....but we are REAL tired right now- actually, my husband is asleep as I type this.

Pray for us!! THANK YOU!!!:)*

winter weather advisory

Dang- winter weather advisory...in effect...figures, we are trying to fly out tomorrow and now it starts SNOWING! It is crazy. I just pray we can find our way to Houston and find a home and then find our way home to J-town!

Anyways, we had a nice time last night- we went to a Christmas play at the free methodist church- that was fun. Got you in the Christmas spirit!

Today we were pretty lazy...went to town and ran some errands... I made some rasberry glazed chicken for dinner- it was tasty. Now I will freeze the rest and save it for a rainy day when we are moving and have nothing to eat! :) My husband even did the dishes! Yippeee!!

To Texas I say! To Texas!

christmas card crisis

Oh my word...so my first wonderful christmas of being married- I spend so much time on christmas cards- and, people are having SO many issues. My mom and aunt margies- came ripped- 1 had to pay .17 cents, my grandma got hers- it is just ridiculous- someone else didnt get it delivered unti lthey go to the postoffice to pay the additional postage- and there is NO reason it should even need additional postage! It is ridiculous. it is just a card- not an odd shape- nothing!!!! I am so annoyed- so if any of you out there are having this issue, I can give you .17 back...I am so sorry!!!

So, this christmas card cost a lot and was a bust. :( It makes me sad. darn it all.

And, I am waiting patiently for my husband who is taking his own sweet time getting to me. I may NEVER understand MEN.

fear not.

the lord tells me to fear not...so I am trying to fear not! :) I was able to talk with the movin g company yesterday- they were VERY nice- they will come look at our apartment and figure out how many boxes they will need- etc., hopefully they can give me some tips on what I should do to prepare!

next, we talked with another apartment place- and we decided we are most likely flying on Sunday to Texas- and coming back Wednesday...hopefully with a new address! :) I am praying that the Lord goes before us and holds our hands to the exact place he wants us to live!! I know that he can do this- and the lord can also put on my adventure hat...all I need is to hug my husband and I will be renewed in my spirit. It is really hard living FAR away from your husband. Jamos is my best friend- and I love him - but when you are in situations that scare you- like, this whole process scares me, I become a different person...and I want to be lovely and sweet- not scared.

Another prayer request I have been meaning to mention.... my friend Tim Davis- he is in the midst of a battle with stomach cancer- and I know he would appreciate your prayers. We had an awesome phone convo the other day- and i know it just lifted ME to hear of the strength in his fight of this horrible cancer. He has had some other health issues that he needs prayer for- like fluid on his heart and fluid in his lungs. He will be having his stomach removed at the start of the new year- so pray for tim- anyone out there who ever knew him at SAU knows what a great guy he is- so let us pray!

oh my

Last night was not a good night for me. Actually, to be honest, yesterday was NOT the best day of my life either. I was feeling pretty emotional and down about moving and the changes that are fast approaching us. It is probably a combination of the holiday season, stress, leaving, moving, etc., I was just NOT in a good mood. So, I went to AAA and got some maps of Houston... then got a hot and ready pizza from Little Caesers. I went home and ate a lot- ate some chocolate. It didn't really help.

Anyways, last night was hard and I cried quite a lot. I am sad. I was even feeling like I didnt want to go to Houston anymore. Let's cancel the whole thing! Right?! Well, what fun is that?? So, I am still on board- just scared and sad. Those are my 2 S's that I will be dealing with in the coming days and weeks.

Jamos has talked with his supervisor and I guess he doesnt start his job until January 7th if I heard him correctly, so, that gives us some more time- except for the fact that my job continues again on January 1st- and honestly, at that point, who knows where we will be. I guess if I dont work, I wont get paid, so I dont have to feel too bad about it- but still, it is hard. And, Jamos wont know his area for stores- so we will really just have to pick a place to live - and hope that he wont have to travel too far to get to the locations of his majority of travel.

All that to say that I just ran into someone who used to live in Houston and hated it- thought the city was dirty and well, that honestly did NOT make me excited AT ALL. Why do people feel the need to say such things?!?! come on! I am freaking out!

fun

Last night we had our annual intern christmas party- it was lots of fun, we did a white elephant exchange- that was real fun! :) We ate a ton of food- and just enjoyed each others company. It was sad knowing that I would not be working with these kids anymore....they are all so wonderful- yet another thing I take for granted- working with amazing students who do a great job in the admissions office.

Today was real hard getting out of bed- I dont know why, but I just think every person should sleep in flannel sheets in the winter and try to get out of bed in the morning! :) It could change the way we think...

This weekend- it went by real fast- Friday night we had hanging of the greens which was great- we had to set up the luminaries before hand - but still got to enjoy the concert and everything! There were a lot of people who tried cramming into the little dining hall- so I didnt really want to push my way thru those crowds...then I went over to my friend Lauren's house- and she has the cutest house- GREAT decorating skills- it is amazing. Anyways, we had a great time of more eating and just laughing. I love laughing.

What else? Saturday, I ran a TON of errands, I printed our christmas card letter- went to panera, stuffed the letters in the already done cards, then, needed to email my husband a scanned copy of our proof of insurance since he didnt have his for his car and who likes to feel illegal? Did that, raced to TJMaxx to return a few things- then, raced home to get lunch and over to my friend Jennies house to take pictures of her family for christmas. While we were headed outside for some shots, their little dog got out- and raced all over the neighborhood- it was pretty funny to watch and I got some good shots of them as a family trying to get the dog back into the house. What I love about photography, is that it captures everyday moments- and makes them beautiful. Sometimes we get really annoyed with certain things that can happen, but that is half of what makes life so fun and interesting, is the unexpected....

Anyways, After the photo shoot we went up to Lansing for a little shopping at the Hobby Lobby! We were there for a LONG time- I think I looked at EVERYTHING the store has to offer!! But, I found some mini lights (not just the normal mini light- they are like little pin head size lights) that I was looking for- so I am excited :) And, hopefully at some point in my life, I can decorate for christmas and I can actually use them!!! :)

Sunday, I went to church- and got together with my friend Marcy- it has been a long time since I got to see her- so we enjoyed just chatting and such- she bought some of my dishes and things that I was getting rid of for the move- so that was great! And, we went out to eat at the best mexican place in jackson- Los Tres Amigos! :)

After putting on the movie "christmas vacation" I was asleep and only awoke to the END CREDITS! GEESH! Can we say sleep apnea anyone?!

Those are just some of the random things I can think to write on here....my mind is quite stressed....i want to see my husband on FRIDAY!!! Sometimes I wish I could just blink my eyes and we would be moved to Houston to start our lives there- but...apparently, life isnt that easy! :)

moving...

wow. this weekend the reality of moving to houston sort of started to set in- I am really excited to see a new part of the country and say I actually LIVED in texas! A place I never thought I would go...

anyways, we might fly down this weekend and check out the place and find a place to live...sounds fun eh?! :)

Pray for us...I will write more later!!!

Jamos and I are going to....

HOUSTON, TEXAS!!! :) That is our final stop for the next 1.5 years of our lives!! :)

the waiting game...

So, I am not doing very good with this waiting game. I was so anxious, I could hardly sleep last night- or even sleep 'in' this morning- I got a lot done around the house, which was good...and at least feels like I am getting something accomplished! I am trying to sell off some of our stuff so we dont have to move with it- most of it I would rather NOT part with- but we got wedding items to replace the items that we currently have- that I have used during my single time of the past 6 years...it is sad. The realization of change is really hard. I have never been very good at change, I mean, I did come up to Michigan from Florida- NINE YEARS ago to attend college- that was really hard- and meant a big change, but for some reason, it felt easier than leaving this place that I have made my home for so long.
I have a safe little apartment that I really love, a job with people I love, I know the community, the owners of places to eat, the post office employees- people 'know' me and how I run- like when you go someplace to eat and you order the usual- it is like that kinda feeling that I am leaving- and it makes me sad.

The hardest part is not knowing where we are going to make our lives for the next 1.5-2 years- how do we find another safe place to live that will meet our needs? how do we move?! the start of actually living together should be interesting and Jamos is starting a totally new job- and I am changing the way I think to adapt to the same job- but totally different at the same time. It is complicated and hard and today I am just not feeling up to par to deal with all of the changes.

A few years ago I read the book, "who moved my cheese" and I loved that book- I stress out about change. Normally, after the change takes place, I easily adapt- but, the fear of the unknown is very real to me.

Please remember me in your prayers today- as we find out the unknown....that I will be strong in the Lord- confident in his grace and peace. I was reading this book this morning- it is kinda like a devotional book- but it was all about finding your contentment in christ- the peace the christ gives- the amazing life we can look forward to in heaven- but being content right now in Christ.

anniversary

yes, my 3 month wedding anniversary is happening in 2 days, but today is a different anniversary, one that normally people don't celebrate or remember...but, back on
December 6, 1991- that was the last time I threw up.

:) I HATE throwing up. It grosses me out to NO end- so, I was 11 years old, just having had surgery- that my friends is how I remember the date. Normally, I don't think I would remember that... I promise!!!

Anyways, tomorrow is the big day- we have many people guessing where our heads will rest in a month....Good luck to everyone is who involved in the contest... :) There is a GREAT prize!!!!

Enjoy the day- Pray for Jamos and I!

change is the only constant

A few months ago when Jamos took this new position with Whirlpool, we knew there would probably be changes set forth in our lives- being a market brand representative requires travel and a relocation process. I had long talks with my boss about what changes would ensue and how I didnt really want to leave my current job in admissions- I work with great people- what can I say?!

Well, long story short, Jamos and I are moving- we will find out where we will be moving to on Friday- 12-7-07 and he finishes the program on 12-14 and we will move as soon as possible after that! We have NO idea where- could be CA- could be NJ/NY- we have NO idea... So, I dont even know where we will be on Christmas- our first Christmas together!

The great news....SAU admissions is AMAZING and offered me a newly created position for my situation so I will be able to work after we have moved- and work from HOME!!! :) Praise the Lord! I am so thankful that he is let this work come my way- so I will have something 'normal' in my life- even if it isn't exactly a normal situation and I will miss my co-workers and this institution more than everything!

So, as I have requested many times before- pray for us as we make this huge transition in our lives. moving to a new location- which is unknown, moving in general, changes with my work situation, for jamos as he gets ready for his new work, so many things!!! :)

thank you!!

time is flyin

it is already friday! this week my dad came for a visit- we had a nice time together- it was pretty spur of the moment- he was bringing me my old bed from his house- and that way I could get rid of the bed that I currently had in the guest room- anyways, as a child of divorce, I have had to deal with those issues, and ever since my wedding, there has been a healing process that my dad and I have been going thru. It is really hard to explain, but tears are being shed- and for me, I love it! I love actually seeing how much my dad loves me- from his heart- from the tears that well up in his eyes. He was talking about the memories of the bed he delivered- how he used to tuck me in- and read me stories. It is true, there are a lot of really great memories that we have had together and I guess lately it has been the time to remember those and be grateful- and I love it! I can't even begin to express how healing it can be. We went out for pizza and watched a movie- it was fun!

Okay, anyways, my husband has been VERY busy training- this week has been crazy- apparently, they have had to give big presentations like EVERY day... so, we haven't really had the chance to connect and talk about things... Continue to pray for us- for our lives in the midst of great change...

Alrighty...it is almost december, time for CHRISTMAS shopping and all those wonderful events that christmas brings! :)

What a nice week off of work, getting to travel to FL and see my family as well as seeing my family in michigan- and of course, my husband. I notice when I start to get totally grumpy all the time, it is because I go thru husband withdrawl- this should happen to NO wife ever- but, it happens to me in the first almost 3 months of marriage! :) That is what you get living away from your husband. I should write a book :) Anyways, we had a great thanksgiving with my dad and family and his family as well. We did a little shopping on Friday after thanksgiving- spent some time with his 2 best friends...it was fun. But, really the best part of it all was just hanging out with my husband- and actually having more than 2 days to everything we need to do!

Anyways, now I am back to the daily grind of work and living alone! I hate it!

black friday

Today is "black friday"....all the shoppers...so little items on sale...so much of a day and so many stores. I have to say- we did go out- but only to a few stores- and for nothing special. We did get some movies- for like 2.50 (dvd's) so that was really good! Jamos LOVES movies- and I got some girl movies...

Jamos' brother Javin is amazing. He started standing in line at Best Buy at 9:30am on THANKSGIVING DAY! So, he totally missed the family get togethers... and was freezing in a tent in a line outside the store. But, he got what he wanted and even helped us get a GPS system for Jamos! :) So, Jamos is happy and I am happy cause he is happy! :)

We came home so Jamos could get some homework done, and he says that I am a loud typer, so I am distracting him as I type this! So, i will go, but remember what you are thankful for :)

TIA

Wow, Right now I am very impressed, I am waiting for my flight out of tampa and they actually have interent access- which is much different from last week - when I was stranded in the middle of no where and had to pretty much pay an arm and a leg for internet access...

I had a really nice time in Florida- seeing my family and of course, spending time with my mom. It is always sad to leave...but these past few months, I have been blessed since we have been able to see my mom pretty much each month since June! :)

Anyways, I have nothing new and exciting to write, I am thankful it looks like I will get in before the snow falls in SW michigan...that is a good thing!

Oh, this past week when I was gone, Spring Arbor had a craft show- and although I wasnt there, I wanted to see if I could sell some of my beaded items that I have made in the past. And, I talked with my friend Jennie, who sold them for me, and she said we sold pretty much EVERYTHING!!! So, that was pretty cool! I was really happy to hear that.

I would continue to ask for prayer for Jamos as he continues in this training program- there is a lot to get done and not very much time! Pray for us as we continue to be married yet apart! It is really hard to not see your husband, especially when you have only been married 2 months...quite frankly, it stinks. I didnt think it would, since most of our relationship we have had to deal with being apart, costa rica, after graduation, etc., but now it is different, we want to live our lives together and that is what makes the difference! :)

Tomorrow (thanksgiving day) he told me he is thinking about waiting in line at best buy for the GPS system he really wants! I would much rather him be with me than standing in the freezing cold for something,...but I have to say...that is FOR SURE something I would do if I really wanted something! So, I give him credit for standing by his 'wants' :) and he will need the GPS system when he gets done in the training program- because it will involve quite a bit of everyday travel.

Today before I left, my granny came over- like she usually does before I leave for Michigan, which has happened all of my life- since I was 4, but, anyways, now that she is older, when I see her, it does make me wonder if that will be the last time I will see her- and that is really sad. She came over and she really wanted to pray with me, I am always up for prayer! :) So, that was a nice memory. oh, and last night, we had a salmon dinner at her house- that was interesting, but it was fun to be with her and my mom.

All of that to say...when the heck is my plane gonna start boarding?! I am bringing my GUITAR back- not because I want to play it- but because my dad wants it! :) So, if that is what I can do for my dad, hey, I will do it!

I can't wait until I can hug my husband tonight at the airport and spend some time with him! :)

Florida Sunshine

I have been in Florida now for a few days- got here after a LONG day of flying on Friday- my plane was supposed to leave at 8am from south bend, but, because of a mechanical delay, I was waiting and waiting hour after hour- missed my connecting flight from detroit- had to wait in long lines, trying to get on another flight, it was pretty annoying, but I would rather be safe, then annoyed. I did miss the rehersal for the wedding, but, I made it in time for the dinner! praise the lord! I had a great time meeting bethany's friends- which are now my new friends! They are wonderful. We stayed at a condo right on the beach- and made the floral arrangements, had good girl talk- and in the morning, we awoke to the waves crashing on the shore! It was beautiful! :) We got ready and bethany was SO calm! I feel like I was a basket case on my wedding day- but she was so calm and so beautiful!!!

We got in the limo and arrived at Sand Key- it was honestly, a BEAUTIFUL day!!! the wedding was amazing- and now they are married!!!! :)

Sunday...let's see... my mom and I took it easy- did a little christmas shopping... etc., I got together w/ my friend Danielle- we had a chance to chill and chat and then, we went to Target- which was SO fun, cause in high school, that is what we did all the time!!! :)

I decided that as something fun for us to do- would be go to the ZOO!!! There is a great Zoo in Tampa, called Lowry Park Zoo- it has been a LONG time since I have been there.... but we decided to go- and my friend Danielle had season passes to the zoo- so we got in FREE! (normally like 18 bucks) and so, we had a blast! All the animals were out- I rode a camel :) And, we were able to play with the stingrays and stuff- they would swim over your hand, thinhking you had food- and there mouths would suck on your hand! It was so cool! That was probably my favorite- we also got to feed these birds, but although, they got on my mom's hand, they only bit me and it hurt! We saw a baby florida panther that just got rescued from the everglades- it was SO cute!!!! And, we saw baby monkeys- it was awesome. We had a wonderful time!! :)

Last night, we had the chance to go over to my cousin, Sara's house and share wedding photo's and videos- they have an amazing house- fully furnished- I hope they know how lucky they are! Jamos and I can only hope to have the amount of beautiful furniture that they have in one room!

This morning, my mom and I went to the beach for breakfast, the water was really cool- but it felt good! I waded out (got my shorts all wet) to the sand bar! And, I saw a huge conch shell with a little animal in it!! :) It was great! I picked it up- but, I DID put it back!! :) Anyways, I will post pictures when I get them on the computer! I cannot wait to see my husband tomorrow night!!! Yippee for that ! :)

...

Last night after work I went to run a lot of errands- I actually went to Target and got GG season 7!! I am super excited about that since I will be down in FL and at home in C town for the next week...I will have some time to watch!! Anyways, after running my errands, I called a friend- who told me some pretty hard news....something horrible happened. Never in my life have I had anyone close to me in this situation, and now I do. I want to be a good friend, but I dont exactly know how to respond in a way that is positive for her. We prayed together, and I am constantly praying for her- she is an amazing woman and I know that this situation isnt going to stop her from being all that she can be- but I am sure she would appreciate prayers - the Lord knows exactly what she needs. She is a fun loving, wonderful friend, and she deserves the best of everything. Please Pray with me for her.

indecisive

yesterday after work...I was thinking about my weekend and what I would do...I was pretty much planning on doing nothing, maybe cleaning, la la la, part of me wanted to see Jamos- the other part of me didnt know what his plans were in his training house and I didnt exactly feel like driving to C-town...since I will be there thursday...BUT, I went home, and talked to Jamos and we decided that I would come Saturday- which gave me friday night to organize and throw stuff out! :) (story of my life). I went and got a hot n ready pizza from Little Caesers...it was GREAT!! So, i had a mini party by myself- and then did my duties and got packed for c-town.

Now, I am at my dads, my husband is doing homework for his job, and my dad is loading wood on the fire- and we are watching the AirForce vs. Notre Dame game...I just had some popcorn and I am feeling pretty good! Traffic this AM was horrible for a saturday- but, none the less, I got here safe and sound. I got to see the house that Jamos is living in, quite interesting and met some of the people...

We stopped at his church so we could see his mom, they have a scrapbook thing once a month- I ended up getting the supplies for 20 christmas cards...hopefully I will remember the design for the cards once I get home...but, that was fun to buy! :) We also stopped at my grandma's...showed her some wedding pictures....

anyways, all in all to say, that this weekend could have been really boring, so I am glad I went out on a limb, and made something happen. I am blessed and always reminded of that. :)

20/20...aka perfect vision :)

Last night, I had an eye appointment at SAMS club optical, with the dr. that comes in on specific days. You can't beat the $43 it cost to go- especially because the doctor comes in...and he has been a doctor for 31 years! Anyways, even after listing off my 'issues' with my eyes, I got all the tests completed and...he said "well, you have pretty much perfect eyes" So, there we go. Now I know! :) I have perfect vision and I am not going blind :) Not that I thought I was going blind, but what if what I thought I was seeing wasnt really what I was supposed to be seeing and my whole life before going to the eye doctor I had the wrong idea of what it was :) Complicated eh?!

Well, anywhoot- I did that, and I got to eat pizza at SAMS and I LOVE their pizza!!! Geesh. It was delicious. Wondefully delicious...

Hmm...this morning was quite funny as I was driving to work- I look over and I see this HUGE dog in this front yard....totally just lifting one leg and peeing. For some reason, I found that to be pretty funny. Its just chilling- not peeing on a tree or a bush, just in the middle of the yard standing on 3 legs- with one out to the side- peeing. I laughed.

I watched a movie called "The Land of Women" and it was actually pretty good. I would give it a B+...maybe even an A but, for some reason, I really enjoyed it. I laughed, and it made me think. It has Meg Ryan in it... rent it today! :) For sure a drama, not a comedy, although, I did laugh quite a bit.

This weekend shall be filled w/ cleaning and organizing my apartment... the joys... the joys....

Happy Wednesday

Today is Wednesday. Waffle Cone Wednesday at TCBY :) Hump Day to others...All very exciting isnt it? I dont really have any news to report on...I love looking at my pictures...and that is why I have enjoyed scrapbooking so much! Today, Jamos and his team are going to Ohio...I am so thankful for this program- Jamos has gotten great instruction from an acting coach on giving presentations, learned to cook, serving breakfast and dinner to very important people, he is gaining relationships with amazing people from all over the USA- I am just so thankful for this opportunity. :) I love you.

Life, put your heart in it!

Today, if you read my blog and are close by my office, I am having a FREE sale in my office. Basically, it is a lot of lotions and potions from my closet to yours! :) If there are no takers, things will end up in the landfills, and that is just SAD.
So, stop over! :)

Last night, obviously, I had the time of my life cleaning out my closets and organizing my bathroom closet. It feels nice to do such a task...realizing that I have WAY too much stuff for my own good- and I never need to purchase a lotion, shower gel, etc., for a LONG TIME. It is nice to know I can save money in our budget!!!!

Anyways, I am also reading a great book called, Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey- I think I mentioned this before, but basically, it is how to get your life on track with a budget and living debt free. Jamos and I don't have any debt, but he does have school loans, which means, Emily has school loans! We want to just get those paid off as soon as we can....and I am learning how to do such a thing! :) But, it does make me anxious! That is for sure!

But, we are blessed for sure, and once we live together, I am sure trying to figure out a budget will be a lot easier when we actually live together! Geesh!

Well, it was snowing-ish this morning, not sticking, but totally cold out and windy and gross. I did NOT like that. Can't we move south?! :) PLEASE?!!

On that note, I better go- but thanks for reading!

A charmed life

I had such a wonderful weekend. I can't even express to you how lucky I feel to have such a great husband. This being apart business is hard, but I am thankful for the times I can see him and for the effort he is making to see me, talk to me and make sure my emotional needs are met. It was hard to have him leave yesterday...

Anyways, today is a new day and can be filled with new adventures. The girls and I worked out at lunch today- and that is always good to get your blood pumping!! :) Try it, you will be suprised.

Saturday's update

The Lord works in amazing ways. Yesterday was a hard day for me- and I really was struggling with not having my husband around. It was hard- I have to admit…I went to the auction with Holly- and we met up with Jennie, Randy, Annie, baby Ellie and then Barb and Joyce. The silent auction was good- I actually bid on quite a few things, and just won 1 gift certificate to a salon to get a haircut- every girl needs that! J The funny part- they had a dwarf hamster, which you can normally purchase at Wal-Mart or Meijer for about $5.99 plus tax- well, I bid on it- starting at 20 bucks- hey, a hamster would be nice company for me while I am husband-less. Well, I got outbid and kept thinking about how I love animals and such- and so the section was closing in 15 seconds- so I went over and placed a bid for like 39 dollars for this hamster- what am I doing? I have no idea. Well, from behind me this lady swoops down and puts her final bid on it and tells me that there is still time to make my move…and I was relieved that I didn’t get the hamster. So, thinking I won nothing, I went to the payment room and saw that I actually did win a haircut- and then, I noticed another sheet hanging there- THE HAMSTER! My heart sank. I thought I got outbid! Well, it turned out that the lady didn’t put the correct minimum increase on there- so she got disqualified so, it went to the next highest bidder, which was ME! I told them that I really didn’t want the hamster and they said the lady would be so happy if I didn’t want it- so thankful and with much joy in my heart- I gave the lady her precious hamster to enjoy…J Whew!!

Here is where my night gets GREAT! I get home and I walk in the door – there are candles lining the stairway, the hallway, candles all over my apartment (50 to be exact), a balloon that says “I love you” and a huge bouquet of flowers- and best of all- my husband was standing in the middle of the living room- so I could get my 'husband hug' that I was wishing for. He had Nora Jones playing- and we danced in the living room- and then, just had fun talking and seeing each other again! Yippee!

Jump ahead to Saturday- we woke up early so we could make the most of the day- and went out to Gabbies Omelet house for breakfast- ran a few errands, got a movie and headed home to chill- we found a new recipe that we wanted to try- so later we gathered our things and headed out to the store…Then, I had to run out to the potter center to set up a SAU display for the Jackson Sym. Orchestra- that SAU is sponsoring. Jamos came with me- and on the way home we listed to the U of M game- Go Wolverines! What a game! We watched it all afternoon! Anyways, I have pretty much listed a play by play of my Saturday and Sunday- but, I am so thankful that Jamos came to see his wife. He is lovely and I am so thankful!!

oh my GOSH

I am so tired. We had our Senior Expedition last night/today...let me tell you- we were running around like chickens with our heads cut off all last night - we didnt leave work until 11pm- and then, we were here again at 8am....to host our visitors. It is fun, but man, so tiring! And, tonight, I am going to the J.C Auction....let's just say tomorrow I will be chilling!!!! But, there is so much I need to do.

Anyways, pray for Jamos and I as we manage our marriage from a distance- that we will be able to find time to talk to each other in our really busy schedules. Sometimes you just need a husband hug to make things all better...and what I wouldn't do for one of those right now. :(

November 1st

My first.

I officially have turnover in my office now- as the boss of the 6 other admissions reps, they have all stayed during my time as their boss, and yesterday we were told that Becky, who travels the local area will be leaving us and moving to Indiana with her husband, who got a job as a worship leader...anyways, it is always sad to have a great worker leave...but, we wish her luck!

Nothing new and exciting to report- so I shall end here. hope you are having a great day!

Today is Halloween...

Not really excited about halloween, never really liked the 'holiday' of sorts. I remember when I was younger, and I was dressing up as a princess and I could actually wear makeup!! I got up super early to apply it- and I felt so cool. I had "Lee Press On Nails" on my fingernails and it was just a great day to be alive... but now that I am older- not even sure I like it when they dress little kids up in different outfits- it is kinda strange. I like kids the way they are- I dont think they need to be a butterfly with a human head...or a pea pod...I dont know...it is just my opinion and I can express that on here cause this is my BLOG! :)

Last night I had a nice time with my friend Shannon. We looked at her wedding pictures from like 5 years ago...quite ridiculous....I was much thinner and tan...geesh. That is always a sad story when you realize that you have gained a little weight! :) We had fun talking and scrapbooking. She has 2 kids- one is still crawling...and they are so cute, but her husband, Chris took them for the evening while we were downstairs chatting away. It was great- and another reminder after talking to her- that you can be really involved in church and activities when you have kids. She still has a life and that is the kinda parent I want to be! Just another random thought.

So, anywhoot- tonight, I am not sure how I will spend my time.. I dont really get trick or treaters, but, maybe I will go to a friends house and pass out candy...or just hang out and clean at home! I sure do make a MESS of my house!!!! Good thing my husband is a clean/neat freak!

Keep praying for Jamos, while he is in the house, that the Lord would just work thru him to minister to those in the house- that he will learn a lot and retain the information, that the Lord will continue to lead our paths as we join together in our marriage! :)

Fun

Last night was fun, my dad showed up at work for the last few minutes- so that was fun to get to see him at work and show him 'my job'...

Then we went back to my place and unloaded his truck. Last January (i think) Jamos and I went a little crazy and ordered 3 large (huge) floor cleaning instruments at the big sale when Whirlpool sold Hoover...anyways, I have a steam vac, a normal vac and a hard floor cleaner. We shall have clean floors at our house:) So, those are now located in the living room! Eeck! We had dinner at Applebee's which was delicious- they have really gotten a lot better even since I was in college... it was fun, we had great convo- I can always learn from my dad! Then, we walked around a little bit to work out food down to digest and then, we came back to my house and watched our wedding video- that was fun, and I always cry when I hear my dad's wedding speech again! Geesh. I am a softy.

Anyways, slept good- my husband is doing great at his "house" in the whirlpool program. I am proud of him for standing firm to his standards of living and being such a great husband! :) Thanks Jamos! I love you!

Tonight I am scrapbooking with a friend...la la la....that is about all! :)

Monday Monday Monday

Yuck. What a Monday. Crazy morning...not so crazy afternoon, trying to bide time calling students and talking them into coming to SAU- it is fun, but I would much rather be outside or cleaning my house- something... I am lacking HUGE motivation.

oh well, tonight, my dad is coming to spend the night! The bad thing, there is no room in the spare bedroom- it is full to the brim- the good news, we will get to go out to eat and probably walk or something outside- which will be fun! I am excited that he is coming! I love it when he comes- it reminds me of when I was little and he would come down to Florida in October to visit and he would come sit in on my classes and I made him think I hated it -but I really did like it when he came, cause he was showing he cared :) Ahh how time makes to realize what was REALLY going on. So, this will be like a trip to FL- except it is just Jackson- and hopefully we will have a blast! :)

Brew Waters

Right now I am sitting in South Lyon Michigan in a coffee house called Brew Waters. Today I traveled with my friend Jennie to a Jazzercise event so hopefully she can teach Jazzercise...anyways, while she is at the class working out- I am sitting in this sweet coffee house with internet access...

Last night was fun, I went to see a movie with my friend Rachel, we went and saw Dan in Real Life. It was good! I think you should go see it! :) Or at least rent it when it comes out on DVD! It was cute and it made me want to cry- every time I go see movies I cry- it is strange. But, after that, I went to Target to return a blender that I got on clearance...it was kitchen aid- but duh, we already have one and it is better than the one I got on clearance, the people at the return desk are going to start knowing me by NAME! It is bad! I keep buying crap I dont need- just to return to the store to RETURN the item! Last week it was a french coffee press....and a sofa cover...

Anyways, I got home and began a cleaning cycle of my bathroom. It was fun, but then I realized that I missed my husband! So, that was kinda hard, but I am over it now and we shall be strong and be okay being apart. Heck, not that long ago, he was in Costa Rica and I never knew when I would see him- and we did okay! Everything that we go thru makes us stronger as a couple- and for that I am greatful. I also was able to spend time in the word, which is something I do not do enough, and I get mad at myself for not doing it more- the word offers peace- and descriptions on how faithful the Lord is- and he is directing Jamos' and my path! praise him for going before us and laying the way out for us, for already knowing our future. And, in that future there is HOPE!!!! I needed the word, I need it every day- it is the bread of life and I am starving for some bread!

Anyways, I am also learning how to budget, I got this book called "The Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey and it has some GREAT idea's on how to budget- what I am trying to figure out is getting a handle on our money as a couple, all of my life I have just worried about my own self and needs and now I am trying to compile our lives including our financial lives- and this book has been very helpful so far! It does kinda stress me out- and make me a bit crazy, but thanks to my friend Liz, I have an excell spreadsheet that I hope will help me see where my money goes and how much we can save each month- and hopefully pay off some school loans! Stupid Loans! I hate them! :)

Well, I should probably run back to the Jazzercise facility and check on my friend- I am sure they are done now- so, I will go!

Be blessed and make a difference in someone's life today!

Rascal Flats

Got the new R.F cd... I think I like it...sounds typical of them...I actually think I am not as into country music as I used to be! It is horrible!

Jamos is doing good in the house- getting to know his housemates and adjust to living in a new place. I do miss him, but this is for a good thing! I was just looking at some wedding pictures on my computer and thinking I havent even been married for 2 months, and yet, the wedding seems so long ago! I love the fact that I had a wedding, that it was great and wonderful and allowed me to marry Jamos Mitchell! I remember feeling VERY scared about such a huge life changing moment was about to happen when I said I DO, and yes, it is life changing, but it is NOT scary- and my entire life didnt change, I still have a mom and a dad, friends and family, and now I am totally dedicated to one man- that is a really fun feeling! :)
Okay, I have no idea why I just went on and on about that. I am reading a REALLY good book right now called A Sacred Marriage and I reccomend anyone that can read this book! It was a gift from a pastor who we counseled with and it has showed me some really good points of marriage and what it is all about as a christian. Go buy the book right now...Go. Get it! You will transform your marriage. it is worth the $13.50 the book costs. TRUST ME!!! :)

Okay, so yet another tangent of mine... tonight I am doing my weekly trip to Target....I need to return a slip cover for a couch that I got soley because it was on clearance, not because I enjoyed the color or actually NEEDED a slip cover... So, back to the store it goes....and hopefully my eyes will be closed to the cute target items I may want to purchase! :)

Praise the Lord, praise him!

what a wonderful world

Last night when I got home from work, I went for a walk...it was so refreshing and once again I questioned myself as to why I dont do that more often. My dad says to keep the body moving foward and walking is one of those amazingly great ways to do that! Anyways, as I was walking, I was headed towards a huge bright yellow (leaves were changing) tree and as I made my way under it, the bright leaves on the ground, the tree itself was shining! It was beautiful and made me not only fall in love with nature, but once again I was reminded of how amazing the Lord really is to create such a beautiful world for us to enjoy!!!

When I got home I decided it was time to use the meat in the fridge and I made some chilli!! Never really made good chilli before, just ask Jamos, but this was AWESOME!!!! I am proud of myself for making such a delicious batch of goodness!!! THEN, it was time to get out the scrapbooking supplies and make some pages!!! I had a blast! 2 hours FLEW by...and then I realized it was time for bed!! I got about 4 pages done...in 2 hours! This is going to take forever, but I want the pages to look really good, not just like I threw stuff on a page! :)

"Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% what you do with what happens to you" :) amen sister!

too fast

Why do the weekends go by so fast?! I only have like 60 some hours with my husband and yet they fly by faster than I can even see.

We had a great weekend- watched a movie on Friday night- Saturday we went to Lansing to do a little shopping....I had a blast at the Hobby Lobby and Jamos had a blast at EXPRESS. He loves shopping- to the point of boring me....good thing pier one is close to express...I found a great deal on a cream and sugar bowl...

Today Jamos went to begin his journey to become a Market Brand Representative for Whirlpool. He was able to travel around with a current MBR and tomorrow he moves into the Real Whirled House! I am really excited for him and this opportunity he is about to embark on! The Lord is leading us- and for that I am thankful. He will have some really neat experiences with this company in the next 7 weeks and I can't wait to hear about them!!!!

Drink that Milk, Eat Those Peas!

I am back from travel- it was refreshing to my soul to be out on the field w/ my all my potential students... I wish I had a bus that I could load up with students and bring them to campus so they could see what a great place it is here!

This weekend should bring fun things for my husband and I- he is coming to town and hopefully we will have some mini-adventures together- making memories to last us a while since he will be moving into a house to start the "Real Whirled" program on Tuesday. This will last 7 weeks or so, and during that time I am not sure how much I will get to see of him!

Lately, I have been adding to my scrapbooking collection and I cannot wait to get started scrapbooking my wedding and honeymoon. I have so many amazing pictures- that I want to showcase in my books....and, thanks to my mother in law- I found a great scrapbooking store in Paw Paw, Michigan, which has every thing you can imagine and it is all really trendy and up to date papers and things you can scrapbook with!!! This past weekend I went to a scrapbook day @ Jamos' church with my MIL (Tina) it was fun and made me want to get serious now that life is settling down a tad...and when I say TAD, I mean TAD. :) So, I keep spending money on all the fun scrapbooking items- I even have a cricut (cuts out letters and words and shapes) so, let's get this party started!!!!

Also, I found the SWEETEST little collectibles...they are kinda folk-artish- and they are designed by a Woman named Lori Mitchell, I could say she is my sister, but she isnt, anyways, she makes these CUTE little people and creatures with really long legs and arms and the sweetest faces you have ever seen.... i love it- http://www.bayberrycove.com/lorimitchell.html and check out some of her stuff!!!

Anywoot, that is my life in a nutshell- OH, last night was CRAZY- We were having horrible storms....but it wasnt raining, they were just talking about it on the TV- and then, all of a sudden after I fell asleep watching my show- Gray's Anatomy- I heard the Tornado siren's going off.... freaked me out- totally!!!! I woke up in a sheer panic on the couch and then, I heard loud banging, and it was my other neighbor banging on her sister, Ginny's door- yelling "GINNY!!!!!" "GINNYYYY" and it was scary!!!! then, I look out the window and I see my other neighbor running across the parking lot- and I have NO idea where to go- since I live on the 2nd level and dont really have a basement....Geesh. But, I finally fell asleep on the couch- watching the weather and then, I woke up at 2am....and went to sleep in my bed!

Those are the moments you want a husband with you- cause you can brainstorm together on what to do in the midst of a storm, so for those of you who live with your husbands...cherish it! :)

married life

I LOVE BEING MARRIED!!!! I am so blessed because my job allows me to spend some time, traveling the area's where I have family- which is great at night- cause instead of coming home to an empty house as a married woman, I get to come home to my husband (and my dad and step- mom) and I love it!!! There is something so great about eating dinner WITH people rather than alone in front of the TV....

Travel has been GREAT- I have surely missed my time on the road....6 years is 6 travel seasons....and...well, 2 weeks on the road is great! Meeting my applicants at their high school or church is AWESOME. It helps me feel so much more connected to the students I am helping. Anyways, Last night, Jamos and I made some pretty sweet cookies...from SCRATCH....and decorated them in amazing ways with all this crazy icing and such- it was fun and they actually taste really good too!!!!

Tonight after work, I went and took some senior pictures of Jamos' younger brother, Javin. They came out AWESOME- I am pretty proud of myself....I hope he likes them too!

Tomorrow I have a day fair all day long and then a church visit tomorrow night- I am excited! :)

Well, I better go- but, praise the Lord...praise him all day long! :)

Florida...travel season....life...

Wow. posting on this blog is quite hard when time is flying faster than I can imagine! It is already october 10th! What is up with that?! Jamos and I had a great time in FL at my cousin Sara's wedding. It was beautiful and I am so glad that I was there. We got to spend a lot of time with my mom, granny and aunt margie. The weather was HOT!!! We did get a flat tire in our rental car....basically, do NOT rent from EZ car rental...they are NOT the best....So, we had to buy a new tire for the rental car.... we went searching for sharks teeth and found quite a few- that was really fun....we also did some shopping.... saw my friends Bethany and Danielle! I havent seen Danielle in like 2 years- and she was unable to make it to our wedding, so I was glad I could connect with her and her 2 kids, Collin and Olivia. they are so cute! What a great family she has!

We got in LATE on Sunday night, I came to work on Monday and then, left to drive to a college fair in sw michigan- where I stayed to do more travel for the next few days. The longer I work in admissions, the less travel I get to enjoy- and these high school visits where quite fun! I love meeting with the students on their turf. :) So, pretty much I am enjoying life!!!

Are you??

my sweet niece Charlotte.

This is my sweet girl looking at me- her auntie Em! :)
Me and Charlotte! I love her...

my dad and his grand baby! :) So sweet.

Traffic Court

Today was a first for me...Right after my gallbladder surgery, the broken toe, etc., I got a speeding ticket right before the wedding. If you know me, you know that I am all about taking care of things like this- so the same day I got the ticket, I went to the court house to set up a time to dispute it or whatever- I mean, I thought the speed limit was 35...it just turned to 25...I was slowing down...does anyone care?! So....Today was the big day- didnt know what to wear, so I wore a red and black dress that reminds me of Gilmore Girls- and a pair of pointy black shoes- I was so nervous- showed up really early-there were already police officers there- but not a lot of people- so I just sat there and then, people started showing up and I didnt see my office yet...time is ticking - I am praying in my mind that the Lord knows Jamos and I cannot afford to pay a ticket right now...and...after waiting at EXTRA 15 minutes AFTER our 'time slot' the judge called me up and threw away my ticket cause the officer didnt show up! Praise the Lord!!!!!! :)

Tonight Jamos is coming and tomorrow we leave for FLORIDA!! I am excited! :) Pray for us and for safety!

target

I have gone to Target so much this weekend! After you get married there are things that you wanted that you registered for at certain places...but places like Target make things more difficult- because some of the stuff you registered for goes on CLEARANCE...in our case this is good- because then, we can go and purchase these items, but it requires constant watching of items! It is fun...This weekend I got the fall decorating 'itch' as well- and spent numerous minutes of my life planning the front door decorations. It must be married life- but I am in love with my front door! I got a new Door Mat...Made a neat door hanging for FALL...and bought a large Mum Plant to put in the plant stand...totally cute!!!! I just want to go home so I can see the cute decorations! I hope Jamos enjoys the beautiful door deco too! I am sure he will appreciate it- being a man of culture and all! :)

Anyways, on Saturday night I went with my friend Rachel to a live recording at westwinds- we went and got to sing loud to be the live audience on the CD- of John- who wrote a lot of music (he is the worship pastor at WW) and it was great praise and worship. I had a grand ole time!

This week, on Wednesday- Jamos and I are leaving for FL- to go to my cousin Sara's wedding. It should be something else! I am pretty excited to GO TO a wedding, not just plan a wedding! And, it seems as though this is going to have all the bells and whistles! :) So, we leave on Wednesday for that- it will also be fun to take a little honeymoon adventure with Jamos before he starts his new job in the Real Whirled Program at Whirlpool. We love this company- they do great things- and are giving him an awesome opportunity to be a Market Brand Representative. Go Jamos Go! :) But, he starts this 7 week training program- and I am not exactly sure how much I will get to see the kid...so, this will be a nice adventure thrown in there...:)

So, pray for us as we fly down there- and drive around in FL! :) There are so many people I want to see and so many things to do! I pray we can get them all done!!!!!

cleaning

Last night I got home and ran so many errands- all post wedding- felt pretty great about getting much accomplished that when I got home - I got the MUCH NEEDED cleaning itch! I am actually really pumped to go home tonight after our fairs- cause it will be clean! I can see the wood of the coffee table! This is wonderful...and as my husband says, now I have to keep it clean! argh. that is the tough part!

If anyone out there likes scrapbooking, I found this great website, www.scrapbook.com and it is so fabulous...you can insert pictures and basically make an online scrapbook page! Pretty fun if you are bored.

I am ready for the weekend- more relaxing and getting situated as a married couple. I am reminded always of this book I have started, but have yet to finish, called the sacred marriage- marriage isnt about making us amazing or better or anything, married is about making us holy.

Although, Marriage is fun, exciting, full of adventure and laughter, it is also learning how to BE selfless. I love those ideas!

Count Your Blessings

Life has been fairly busy lately! But, I would rather it be busy and fun than boring. :) We are hosting our 2 christian fairs this week, last night was number 1 and it went great! By the end of the night you have aching feet- but it is from a hard days work!

I have a favorite quote and I am going to share it on here. Why? I want people to grasp the power of it in their lives...

"Be not the slave of your own past- plunge into the sublime seas,
dive deep, and swim far so you shall come back with self-respect, with a new power,
with an advanced experience that shall explain and overlook the old."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

I love that! read it outloud. Read it again until you understand it! I love it!

Anyways, I am really excited because next week Jamos and I are flying to Florida for my cousin's wedding!!! I am pumped for a few reasons, 1) travel adventure with my husband 2) a wedding that I can attend that isnt my own - so I feel no stress 3) I get to see my florida family again for a longer period of time than when I just saw them a month ago!

Jamos and I are really excited to be flying down and are ready for some Florida sunshine...:) I will be back down in Florida in November for my friend Bethany's wedding- she is getting married on the beach- and I am really excited to be a part of her special day!!! :)

So, anyways, get out there and create adventures, so you can have stories to share and the self confidence to continue living a confident, creative, adventurous and wonderful life.

Ah, the married life!

I love being married. It is sweet! :) This weekend was a fun one for my husband and I :) We did a lot of post-wedding stuff and a little bit of shopping for our future home together! I love it! :)
We also won Weird Al tickets.... so, we went to a Weird Al concert- which is totally something random, but it was free and we can have a good time wherever we go! So, we went and it was pretty funny! The show was pretty good if you ask me. :) Memories...

It was fun to cook with my husband...to just 'live' together and do the daily chores of life together. :) Yippee for that! :)

Gotta run!

The wedding was beautiful- the rain held off for us, and it was just lovely! great sunset, great time being with friends and family. Most of my work friends came and that was so fun to have them there!

I will post some pictures....

Our Honeymoon was also awesome- a lot less stressful than a wedding, but we had a BLAST!!! We hiked, played in the water, went kyaking, swam in a waterfall, we also went ziplining and we went up in a doorless/windowless Helicopter!!! that was INSANE!!!! But, we got some great pictures and I loved that I was doing all of this with my husband! There is no one I would rather be with to have such crazy fun adventures!!!!

wedding day

Today is my wedding day. I am at the hotel and looking out the window at a beautiful day. Lake Michigan is a beautiful blue....the sky is blue, dotted in white clouds...the pier that I love is shining so brightly with the lighthouse...i find comfort in this as I wait for this day to start.

Last night we had the rehersal dinner and I am overwhelmed by the love we have recieved from our friends and family. I can't believe how blessed we are. All of these people traveling so far to see us- and spend time with us. I love it- and it does bring me to tears...joyful tears.

I hope to see most of you later today!! I think it is going to be a beautiful day out!!!! :)

no time

8 days until the wedding and lately, I have had NO time to write- let alone think straight. We have had a busy time at work helping last minute families...and, then, we have intern training on top of that...and on top of everything else, I am trying to do last minute details with the wedding...still have programs to make.... ARGH.

I did get x-rays of my toe because as of now, my toe actually hurts more than my 4 scars from the surgery....so, I gave more co-pays to the doctors of america and went to have it looked at. I also had x-rays and we discovered good news, that my toe is NOT broken. So, that makes me feel better about walking on it when it hurts! :) I cant damage it anymore than it probably is! Also, he said this, take 4 advil 3 times a day- this equals 12 advil a DAY until the wedding. Either that PA was on drugs or I am going to be flying high for the next 8 days! :)

oh, the other day, on my way to the hospital for my quick follow up appointment, I was driving along, I stopped at the local downtown coffee shop, got a latte, and a free shot of espresso....I was feeling good about the jackson area- how I know my way around and can go to the hospital no problem...then it happened....I saw the speed limit drop to 25, so I slowed down, but not soon enough....and there he is. The cop. The cop that wants to pull Emily over!!!! And give Emily a ticket.

So, latley, like i said in previous posts, life has been giving me LEMONS! And, now we are just praying for protection! :)

If you want to pray for me, here are some ways in which you can.
  • The wedding details working themselves out- or at least that i will know how to work them out
  • my mom is flying to michigan on Saturday- for safety for her
  • for the weather on Friday and SAturday- September 7-8 that it will be sunny and cool- with hardly any wind (i dont want to mess up my hair- and I know God cares:))
  • For health for Jamos and I and everyone in our lives- that people will remain healthy and calm in spirit.

so, there ya go! :) An update from me! :)
