Pray

Jamos and I have had a VERY busy week, and I titled this blog- PRAY- so that if you think of it while reading this, you will pray for us this week, that the Lord will continue to guide us, protect us, let us do our jobs to the best of our abilities. This weekend (FRI-SAT) is MarriagePrep. Right now we have 170+ people signed up to join us for this weekend of nurturing our relationships. I also ask for prayer for the couples, as they go thru this weekend, that they will discover who their mate is- as they get to the heart of some deep issues.
I do a lot of the planning for this weekend and there are SO many details that need to be taken care of, that I just need more waking hours, a few more brain cells and a lot more diet coke :)

I just heard from my mom, she has been on an adventure for the last 2 weeks, traveling out west on a bus, and on an Alaskan Cruise. She is back in Seattle today and will be flying home to Florida tomorrow. I guess she got sea sick, which is a bummer, but I guess a LOT of people did get sick. I would totally be traumatized. I HATE throwing up. Yes, most of you know that I have not thrown up since December 6, 1991, when I was in the 6th grade. :) I take great confidence in that statistic. I don't know why I remember that, or why I even CARE.

We had small group last night, I had the chance to lead it- I printed out notes, etc., of course, this was one of the busiest weeks for me, but, we learned a few things! :)

I am so thankful for my husband. I know that marriage has it's days...at least that is what I am learning. But, in a little over 1 month, we will have been married for 1 year. I will likely talk more about all of the changes we have gone thru in this year, but I do love Jamos more now than a year ago, and I look foward to feeling that way EACH year as we grow into "mature love" for one another.

To celebrate our anniversary, we are doing it a little early, but anyways, we are going to San Antonio to enjoy the city and then, we are going to SEA WORLD! :) We are staying at a great hotel, and I cannot wait to get out of Houston for a bit- to see the state of Texas :)

Off to do more work, to run some errands and hopefully find something to eat for dinner in the mix!

crazy week

I have had a crazy week!! :) VBS all week long- at night- from 6-9pm. I LOVED every minute of it! I was with 4 year olds- and I am in love with them! Zane, Chloe, Cassidy, Danielle, Nicole, Andrea, Kaytlin, Drake, Justin. On Friday, my friend Amy won tickets to go to the radio station, Hot 95.7 and see a personal concert with Metro Station and Boys Like Girls. They both have songs on the radio right now. We were the only ones there over the age of like 15...I felt slightly dumb, but also kinda giddy at the end when we got our pictures with them- and the guy rubbed my back and the other guys hair touched my FACE! :) I know, totally funny and reminded me of my experience with New Kids on the Block. I knew I was going to marry Joey. :) Such funny feelings. Don't worry, I texted Jamos and told him right away that the guy rubbed my back and the other guys hair touched my face. He thinks I am a nut. :) It was fun, and we got FREE lunch!

This weekend has been good. Friday night, we cooked with our friend Miseal. He is a really good cook- and grew up in the Dominican Republic, so we always are cooking AMAZING FOOD. Today I was able to go to Target and shop and find REALLY good deals- like, clearance, PLUS coupons for items I wanted anyways. Those are always REALLY good days!! :) How cheap am I?

Jamos and I decided to clean. He was working today, but when he got home, we tackled the house and we did a GREAT job. It was So fun cleaning WITH him- rather than me cleaning all day long. Wow, to do it together was WONDERFUL! After cleaning, we went swimming in the pool- to cool off.

And THEN- we had a spontanious DATE!!! We walked up the road to Macaroni Grill. I have been wanting to go there since we moved here! We had a FABULOUS time together. I will post pictures of my drawing of Jamos :) We got a free appetizer, (coupon) and then, we had a gift card from Christmas to use from my mom! We both ordered really good food, but were SO full- so we will have a great lunch tomorrow after church! :) Yippee! I loved spending time with him and just enjoying each other after working a lot all week.
Enjoy the photos.

A weekend in pictures...

Below: Here is our booth....the construction theme. From Left to right- Patrick, Kristal, Melinda, Jamos and Pastor Danny. Melinda and Danny actually teach marriageprep!

Below: this is the cool water fountain area at the new park. love it!

In front of one of the sculptures in the park. This is also just after our teeth whitening session- how do they look? :)

I don't know why this picture is so funny, but there is a small hill, so I was sitting on it and had Jamos take a picture. I think the temp increased by like 20 degree's just by being closer to the sun.

Below: my mom and her friend Janis, they are traveling for 2 weeks all over the place! They had a layover in Houston, so I went to the airport and took them lunch! It was wonderful to see them even if only for 1 hr! :)TOTALLY worth it! NOTE: I have realized how making the time for people, no matter what is going in your day, but if you have the chance to see a person, or spend time with them, you should take it- you won't be dissappointed for making the effort!

Me and my Mommy!

The End!

Bridal Weekend

Wow, what a weekend we had. It was the Bridal Extravaganza weekend downtown Houston and WHOA. I had to set up the booth on Friday- our theme is a construction theme- we are promoting MarriagePrep- which....means...a construction theme....building a healthy marriage. Get it? :) Well, we totally stand out amongst elegant table clothes and flowers- which is the whole idea!!! :)

Anyways, we set up on Friday- enjoyed a FABU lunch at the new Discovery Green Park. It is a huge park that the mayor of Houston built...it was a parking lot- and now it is a beautiful park with places to eat, fountains that kids can run around in- and a lake where you can race boats...they rent them or you can bring your own! Very fun atmosphere for downtown. A much needed fun spot! :)

Friday night one of Jamos' work buddys came over- we went to see "the Dark Knight" great movie- a tad LONG.... but GOOD. :) Then, we went to my favorite asian rest. to eat! YUM!

Saturday morning, we had a nice breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and hashbrowns and then, it was off to downtown to work the booth! I am so thankful for the volunteers that came to help us out as well. SUCH a blessing!!! When we finished working the booth- we decided to go check out a cuban rest. i LOVE cuban sandwiches- and beans! YUMM! It was delicious. Plantains...Yuca... all wonderful :)

Sunday we had to be down at the convension center very early to work the booth, but we went a little early and got our TEETH whitened! Yes, they had professional teeth whitening there- and as a vender at the show, we got a discount, so, Jamos and I got our teeth whitened, he went up 9 shades and I went up 8 shades!!!! :) Totally worth the money. We have happy smiles :)
Sunday was a LONG day at the show- because we had to work both shifts. We did get to take a break, go to the park and sit in the shade, enjoying the view and watching the little kids fly a kite!
We broke down the booth, drove back to the church, unloaded and were finally done with the bridal extravaganza weekend! We were tired, and I am SO thankful for my husband, who helped me out the entire time- spending his weekend with ME! :)

Monday- was back to the grind and then...VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL. Our church is huge, which means our VBS is HUGE! We have 5 campuses and at one of the campuses, they had over 3,000 kids! AMAZING!! They really do a GREAT job. Anyways, I was supposed to work in the 3yr old class room- well, only 1 kid showed up and we had 4 adults in the classroom....
So, we merged with another class, 4 year olds. But, it doenst go without a hitch. 1) I dont speak spanish, and we had the sweetest little spanish girl in the class, who was refusing to go down to the big show- so I was trying to speak spanish- this is what I could say... "mi amiga...si.." over and over... DUMB. No wonder she didnt want to come with me! :) They were able to get a teacher who speaks spanish to come up and try to get her to come- and she went, and we traded hugs when she got back. Poor thing was talking to me in spanish and I just smiled. Yet another reason my HUSBAND should be teaching with me at VBS! He actually KNOWS spanish! :)

I did have a great time playing with the kids. They are sweet. :)

So, I will be exhausted by the time Thursday night roles around!! :)

How can I keep from singing?

I know it is a LOT more fun to read some stories that have been going on in my life rather than me telling you day to day 'stuff'. I am so happy that today is Saturday- why? Well, I guess it gives me another chance to get the things done I needed to get done during the week. I had a nice trip to the library, s QUICK trip thru SAM's club- I was NOT in the mood for that place, so I was in and out with no purchases. Jamos had to work and so I decided I should do some marriageprep stuff- we have a HUGE Bridal Expo next weekend (saturday and sunday) and we are setting up a booth and promoting MarriagePrep. I needed to get a few things done, so I made a trip to the church. It is amazing to me all the time, how I can go to our church and it is just as busy as any day at any time! There are always people coming and going! I love it! :)

After Jamos got home, we were both lazy and watched "The Other Boleyn Girl" which was very good- and supposedly based on a true story. VERY interesting. I love our blue ray player. AMAZING!!! :)

Well, tomorrow is Sunday and things are going to be busy as usual.
